Feel the Music - North Valley Academy Orchestra Playing up a Storm

William Shakespeare wrote in Twelfth Night, “If music be the food of love, play on; Give me excess of it, that, surfeiting, The appetite may sicken, and so die. That strain again! it had a dying fall: O! it came o'er my ear like the sweet sound That breathes upon a bank of violets, Stealing and giving odour.”  Music is not only beautiful to the ears, it gives our heart voice and it provides balance in a world that might otherwise seem crazy and unsettled.  North Valley Academy is extremely proud of our Strings Program taught by Mrs. Danielle Winton.  Recently, eight NVA strings students participated in a two-day honor clinic, a wonderful opportunity.  The honor clinic gave our students the opportunity to work with a special clinician, meet other strings students from around our district, and perform.  NVA was one of eight schools to participate.

Our Strings Orchestra Concerts and elementary classroom programs are coming up in early December at NVA.  4th-6th grade will perform on December 11, 2018, and our Advanced high school students will perform on December 13, 2018.  Both concerts will be from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in NVA’s cafeteria.  Please join us as we celebrate the joy of music and pass on that wonderful tradition to our children.

Please enjoy these photos of our students at the honor clinic.
